Feeling Weak in the Gym… and Finally Finding Out Why

For the past few weeks, something has just felt off during my workouts. I’ve been dragging myself through my sessions feeling unusually tired, weak, and honestly a little frustrated. Not to mention, I’ve been averaging about 3-4 hours of sleep for no good reason. It feels like I am going crazy at this point, because what gives!

Today’s session was all about deficit RDLs and deficit reverse lunges—two movements I actually love because they give me an incredibly deep stretch in my glutes. There’s this satisfying tension and mind-muscle connection that I don’t always get from standard variations.

But let me be clear:
Deficit RDLs are NOT a beginner movement.
When you elevate your feet and increase the range of motion, your spinal erectors have to work even harder to maintain a neutral spine. Without proper form—think lats engaged, core braced, hips pushed back—you can strain your lower back real fast. They’re amazing when executed correctly, but they absolutely demand experience and control.

With all that’s been going on, I had an inkling suspicion that maybe I am pregnant?

So I bought a few pregnancy tests and waited for the results. I saw a faint double line, and my stomach dropped… I was PREGNANT!

Suddenly everything made sense.
The fatigue.
The weakness.
The weird dips in energy that didn’t match my training.

It wasn’t a slump at all. My body has been whispering (okay, shouting) at me, and now I finally know why.

A new chapter is starting, and today’s glute day ended with a plot twist I’ll never forget. 💛
